Situated in the centre of Bohemia, on the river Vltava, Prague is
quite simply one of the most beautiful cities in the world and
without doubt one of the wonders of Europe. By a miracle, it
escaped the huge destruction wreaked by the two world wars.
After many years of isolation, Prague has once again opened its
arms to visitors from all over the world. It attracts great
acclaim, admiration and praise, as much because of its beautiful
stone buildings and large number of ancient, artistic monuments
and architectural structures, as by its ancient and rich history.
For many centuries, it was the residence of princes, kings and
emperors.
Prague has been a constant source of inspiration for writers,
poets, musicians, painters as well as photographers. Mozart was
truly appreciated here (much more so than in Austria), and spent
his best years in the city. Beethoven also received a warm welcome.
You, too, should let yourself be seduced by the unique charm of
the "city of a hundred bell towers". Follow in the footsteps of
Kafka, discover the treasures of Amadeus, have a meal in the
cafeteria of Vaclav Havel, have a pint in a 15th century tavern,
and walk up the steps of the narrow streets of this most romantic
Eastern city, this "magic capital of Europe".
